Will My Sofa Fit Through the Door?

Pick a UK bed size and enter your room. We draw it to scale and check that you can get in and out on each side, reach the foot, and open any drawers or wardrobe doors, and tell you which sizes work.

About 60 cm on each side you get in from, and at the foot, is a comfortable minimum for most people. Bedrooms often manage less on one side, with the bed pushed against a wall, but two people each need a side to get in and out without climbing over each other.
Drawers and ottoman lids need room to open. A set of drawers at the foot pulls out by about 50 cm, and you need to stand in front of them. The checker allows about 80 cm in front of anything that opens, so you can use it properly.
Sliding doors need about 60 cm to stand and reach in. Hinged doors need the width of the door to swing, so about 90 cm is a safer figure. If a wardrobe sits at the foot of the bed, that space is on top of the bed itself.
A little. A divan is about the same size as the mattress. A wooden or metal frame is typically 10 cm wider and a few centimetres longer. A headboard adds to the length too, which is why you can enter its thickness.
Yes, and many people do, especially in smaller rooms. For one sleeper it works well, because you get in from the open side. Two adults will want to be able to get in from both sides, so the checker looks at the space each side when the bed is centred.
The checker is built for a bed with its head against a wall, which is how most are placed. For a bed in the middle of a room, add the headboard clearance to the room length and use the longer figure.
Yes. Switch to inches at the top of the form. Everything is calculated in centimetres and converted for you.
No. The calculation runs in your browser. If you copy a results link, the measurements are in the link itself, and nothing else.

A divan or ottoman base cannot fold. Check it through your doorway and round a tight corner, and see whether a two-part base would help.
