You have found the sofa you want. You have chosen the colour, paid your deposit and now there is just one thing left to do.

Wait.

And wait.

And possibly wait a bit longer.

Long lead times are pretty common when buying a new sofa, particularly when furniture is being made to order or shipped into the country. Depending on what you choose, you could be waiting eight, ten or even twelve weeks before it finally turns up.

Here at Alec’s, we think there is a much simpler way to buy a sofa.

See it. Sit on it. Buy it. Take it home.

One of the biggest advantages of buying from stock is exactly that. The sofa is physically sitting in front of you. You are not choosing from a photograph, fabric swatch or showroom model and hoping the one that eventually arrives feels the same.

You can sit down, check the comfort, look at the colour in person, feel the material and see exactly what you are buying. If you like that sofa, that is the sofa you can have.

For something you might sit on every single day for the next few years, we think that matters.

Sometimes you simply cannot wait months for a sofa.

You might have just moved house. Your old sofa might have finally collapsed. You could be furnishing a rental property, replacing furniture after decorating, or simply be tired of sitting on garden chairs while you wait for an order to arrive.

Because Alec’s has hundreds of sofas, chairs and suites already in stock, you can avoid the long countdown completely. Find something you like and it can be ready to go.

We even have same-day delivery available on many purchases, depending on availability and where you live.

That means you could walk into Alec’s looking for a sofa in the morning and be sitting on your new one at home later that day.

Buying from stock does not mean having to settle for whatever is left. Our 30,000 sq ft Bolton warehouse is packed with sofas in different styles, sizes, materials and colours.

There are fabric sofas, leather sofas, recliners, corner sofas, traditional suites, modern designs, armchairs and plenty of one-off pieces.

Stock changes regularly too, so there is usually something different to find every time you visit.

For some customers, looking around the warehouse is half the fun.

Ordering furniture months in advance might work perfectly well for some people.

But if you would rather know exactly what you are buying and get it without waiting until sometime next season, buying from stock has a lot going for it.

At Alec’s, you can come down, have a proper look around, try as many sofas as you like and choose from hundreds that are already here.

No catalogue guesswork. No wondering what your sofa will actually look like.

And, best of all, no 12-week wait.

You have found the sofa you want.
