Pointers and tips for Hassle-free Sofa Delivery
You’ve found a perfect sofa for your home, but will it fit? You’ve fallen in love with a cuddle swivel chair, will it fit? You’ve found a beautiful corner sofa, but will it fit???
On occasions we find that a customer of ours falls in love with a sofa but forgets to think about if it will fit in their home. Meaning that our delivery lads may need to bring back the sofa to our warehouse and the customer comes to choose another (or a refund). We have a few handy pointers and tips for you to save on the heartache and embarrassment.
Tape measure at the ready!
Using a tape measure, measure the area of room the sofa with be designated to go. The average 3 seater sofa is between 6-8ft in length. Average 2 seaters are between 4-5ft in length, and chairs around 2.5-3ft in length.
Are the doorways wide enough?
Are the doorways wide enough? Some front and back doors made from uPVC pertrude inwards taking a few inches inwards, meaning less space for manoeuvrability. Be mindful of that if you’re thinking of buying a really large sofa. The larger sofas generally split in to two or three pieces making them much easier to move around. Also be mindful if you have long and winding hallways, staircases, etc.
Remember, we have our own experienced delivery men who’ve delivered to thousands of homes and businesses throughout the North. They know what they are doing.
Are there any Obstructions?
When they are delivering to your home, try to be mindful and think are there any obstructions in their path? Such as tables in hallways, radiator covers, etc. If possible, move them out of the way so that our delivery men can provide you with a hassle-free drop off.
On rare occasions, we may need to remove the front/back door to get your sofa through. Don’t worry if we need to do this, as we’ll put the door back in it’s place, we carry tools on our vans for such eventualities as removing doors.
